Part of the thing that I love about blogging is the great people that I get to meet along the way. I have made several friends since starting this venture and I'm happy that I get to meet such amazingly nice people. Who Moved My Mouse? is a book written by author Dena Harris. It's a well written book and a must read for any cat lover. There are even quizzes and self help texts in this book which make it even more fun  to read.  Although it is a shorter book, don't let that fool you because it is filled with great material and other stuff to make it fun! There are plenty of answer to commonly asked questions with a little humor added in for your enjoyment. This book will make you smile while reading it and you won't want to put it down until you read the whole thing! "Invasion" is a book written by Jon Lewis and published by Thomas Nelson. It is a fiction book that is well written and keeps the readers attention and holds it from turn to turn of page. If you like science fiction you will love this book about aliens and science and how it all comes together. The story line develops into a very interestig tale and keeps the suspense. It was very entertaining and I enjoyed reading it from cover to cover. It's extremely imaginative and the author expresses his story in a way that will keep you guessing. Nothing like a good old science fiction book this time of year. I recommend you curl up with this good book and have a nice night relaxing. I did not receive any finacial compensation for this book. I especially ike to read the “crime” sections in newspapers, I think it is because “Law & Order : Special Victims Unit” is my all time favorite show. I was surprised when I read an article the other day that talked about the effectiveness of home alarm systems. They are actually really effective at deterring criminal activity, but I also read some adt security facts that had some other good ideas for deterring criminals. They suggest that you do display the signs in your yard that advertise that you have an alarm system. Putting stickers that show that you have an alarm system on windows and doors is also suppose to be a theft deterrent. One thing that they suggested, that I hadn’t really ever thought about was planting really prickly bushes ( like holly) underneath windows that are easily accessible from ground level. Vamplets are the absolute cutest little "vampires" I've ever seen! There are several to choose from each with their own names, personalities and even their own coffins that they come in! I received the Evilyn Nocturna vamplet with a bottle of blood that appears as if she is "drinking" it when you hold the bottle upside down because the blood "disappears". Pins are used in a variety of ways and to show all different types of support. This month is breast cancer awareness month and a lot of people are wearing cancer awareness ribbons to show their support. I think that everyone who believes in something strongly and supports it is a wonderful person. Although there are a ton of different organizations that people like to donate to, not everyone can afford that. The nice thing about pins and awareness ribbons is that you show support even though you don't have a lot of money to give. It shows what you are passionate about and I think that is wonderful. Everyone has a passion in life for one reason or another, and to show everyone what you take pride in is something be proud of. Several years ago my husband and I bought an older home to restore it back to its older glory days. There was a lot of work to be done and we were in way over our heads. It was our first home and we didn't even know where to start. The first thing was to have all the right tools. Pneumatic tools are essential. We have slowly started to get more done and it has surely been a process. Things started going faster once we had the proper tools and supplies that we needed. Our house was built in 1924 and we have redone the kitchen and the bathroom and are going to work on the attic next. The attic was finished years ago but now has to be redone. Aside from all that, I love having a home with a lot of character.I love the original trim and all the original woodwork. Although it is not a huge old mansion, I love my little cape cod. It is slowly becoming more attractive and I love tearing walls down and finding all the little treasures that the previous owners had used for insulation.

Today there are a lot of people getting "work" done to themselves for one reason or another. Almost three years ago, I rescued a little chihuahua who only weighed 2 pounds. He was in Alabama and only a few months old. His one testicle did not drop so aside from being fixed he also needed to have surgery to have his testicle removed and biopsied. Sadly, this handsome little guy was unable to find someone to open their hearts to love him enough to pay for his surgery. Until I heard about him of course! How could anyone resist that face?!? At the time I was working in law enforcement and had the ability to work overtime often. I knew no matter how much it cost me, or how hard I had to work, I was going to have this little guy and he was going to be spoiled rotten!
