Step Back In Time At The Buckhorn Inn Located In Staunton VA

My husband and I recently ventured to Staunton VA for an overnight getaway. We stayed at The Buckhorn Inn, an old stage coach stop that has been open to guests since 1811!

I love old properties, the stories that come with them & the character the old architecture displays. There is so much that comes along with an older home/building, and I was excited to step through the doors.

When we first pulled up, we could tell that the structure was "of old", it was very unique. Located in the country, once we stepped through the doors it was as if we practically stepped back in time. I was so taken back by the character and charm the place offered.

There, we met with one of the owners, Mrs. Yoder. She gave us a tour of the old Inn, and told us the tales of long ago. To hear the stories about previous owners, and to go from room to room and be able to picture history was wonderful.

We didn't realize that The Buckhorn Inn was so big! Not only was it charming, but it offered so much! They offer a banquet room, and also a buffet on Holidays and special occasions.

They even had a room with a pool table, which my husband and I enjoyed in our down time.

Our room was cozy, had a private bath and offered a TV which we enjoyed because it helped us wind down at night. They also have a room with a fireplace that offers coffee, tea and snacks. It was nice to make some popcorn and relax by the fire. We slept well, the bed was comfortable and there was literally no noise! Very peaceful.

In the morning, we ordered our breakfast and sat in a beautiful room with a fireplace and tin ceiling.

The breakfast was amazing, I ordered french toast and my husband had eggs & bacon. The food came in generous portions, and we were even given a nice helping of fruit salad to start us out.

If you are ever in the area, I recommend staying and stepping back in time. If you are a history lover, a B&B goer or just love to getaway, it's a great place.

If you or someone you know is looking to get into the business, it is also on the market as well. Wouldn't it be nice to carry on the tradition of The Buckhorn Inn?! View the listing here.

I want to thank the Yoders for a hospitable stay.
